Domenica Italiana 28th March 2pm

Sunday the 28th March from 2pm Unica Cucina e Caffe will be hosting an afternoon of Southern Italian food, music and everything in between. Our musical entertainment will feature The Rustica Project, a group of fabulous musicians direct from Calabrian and mixed Italian heritage now residing in Australia.

The purpose of Sunday 28th? To bring to you what is so very much a part of my heart and soul and the reason for Unica is in existence. So much of our Calabrese heritage is being lost….. lost in translation and the essence of being Calabrese or “Terrone” for so many years came with many negative connotations.

Being Calabrese is what I am most proud of and what my late husband was most proud of.

My parents hail from a little town called Riace, and I have had the fortune of travelling there in excess of 25 times in my life, having even attended school in our home town. My late husband was born and bred in Roccella, a town not far from my own.

At Unica, we hope to share all of this with you on Sunday 28th March from 2pm. - and 20.p00 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Make a Wish Foundation Mornington Peninsula…. because in Calabria we are taught - if there is extra food at your table - you share it with those around you. Love is what we are all about, and we want you all to share that with us.
